If you’re a regular reader—or if you already live in Stepping Stone—you already know Parker is one of the best cities to live in. But did you know that safety is yet another reason why?
Recently, movato.com named Parker #4 on the top 10 safest places to live in Colorado. (Movato.com is an online real estate brokerage blog recognized by Forbes and CBS News for its city-based research.) Another source, Neighborhood Scout, fleshes out the story with a few more statistics:
- Parker is the 47th safest city in the US (the only Colorado city to make the top 100)
- Parker is safer than 73% of US cities
- Violent crime: 59% less than Colorado average (1 in 797 vs. 1 in 324 in CO)
- Property crime: 66% less than the Colorado average (1 in 105 vs. 1 in 35 in CO)
Parker’s small-town size and atmosphere plus family-oriented demographics surely contribute to Parker’s high safety scores. Another factor may be the Town of Parker’s police department of 65 commissioned officers, who are encouraged to get out of their cars, get to know community members, build trust, and solve problems.
